据《时报》报道,世卫组织总干事特德罗斯·阿丹诺姆·格布雷耶苏斯(Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus)在新闻发布会上表示:”“我们估计在新冠疫情严重阶段,供应链可能需要满足世界30%以上的需求。每个月我们将需要运送至少1亿个医用口罩和手套,多达2500万个N95口罩,多达250万个测试盒及大量的氧气浓缩器和其他用于临床护理的设备。”

列日机场副总裁Steven Verhasselt(史蒂芬·维哈索)表示:“我们相信WHO选择列日机场建立其欧洲救援仓之后,会为我们带来更多的机遇。”

The World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Health Agency and the World Food Program (WFP) have jointly selected Liege Airport to make it the new European medical supply center to against Covid-19. According to the Times, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at the press conference: "We estimate that in the severe stage of the new epidemic, the supply chain may need to meet more than 30% of the world ’s needs. Every month we will need to ship at least 100 million medical masks and gloves, as many as 25 million N95 masks, as many as 2.5 million test boxes, and a large number of oxygen concentrators and other equipment for clinical care. " Steven Verhasselt, vice president of Liege Airport, said: "We believe that after WHO chooses Liege Airport to establish its European rescue center, it will bring us more opportunities." 

Liege Airport is located in the center of the Golden Triangle between Amsterdam-Paris-Frankfurt, and more than 73% of European cargo transportation takes place within this area. In the past two decades, Liege Airport ’s freight logistics business has been steadily increasing, with an average annual growth rate of 8%, and in 2019 it is at the top of the growth rate of major European airports with a growth rate of 22%.
